Why Spontan Chose Comply on AI for AI Assessment, Governance and Responsible AI Readiness

Artificial intelligence is rapidly changing how companies work, create, make decisions and serve their clients. For businesses operating at the intersection of technology, creativity and digital transformation, adopting AI is no longer simply about using new tools. It is also about understanding how those tools are used, what risks they introduce and how they should be governed.

At Spontan Creative Media, AI is already part of the broader technological landscape in which we operate. We develop digital products, websites, applications and AI powered solutions while working with businesses, international organizations and institutions across different markets.

As our own use of AI evolved, Mr. Dario Rexhollari, CEO of Spontan Creative Media, reached a simple conclusion together with the company leadership: before expanding further, Spontan wanted an independent and structured understanding of where the company actually stood in terms of AI readiness, governance, opportunities and risk.

That is why we chose to work with Comply on AI for a comprehensive AI assessment and its wider 360 degree AI advisory services.

Why We Decided to Assess Our AI Readiness

The decision was not driven by compliance alone.

We wanted to understand how AI was already being used across our company, where opportunities existed, what risks required attention and what governance structures could help us grow responsibly.

An effective AI assessment should not simply produce a document that sits in a folder. For us, its real value lies in helping leadership answer practical questions.

Are we using AI consistently across the organization? Are our internal processes sufficiently clear? How should sensitive data be handled when AI tools are involved? Where can AI genuinely increase productivity or create new business opportunities? What policies and controls should be established before more advanced AI systems are introduced?

As a company that develops digital products and works with clients across different sectors, including businesses, international organizations and institutions, these questions matter.

A First for Spontan and, We Were Told, for Albania

During the process, we were informed by Comply on AI that SCM was the first company in Albania to engage its services for an AI assessment of this kind.

We were pleased to learn this, but for us, being first is less important than being prepared.

AI adoption is moving faster than most internal company structures, policies and governance frameworks. Waiting until problems emerge is rarely the best strategy. We preferred to examine our AI readiness early, identify gaps honestly and create a stronger foundation for future growth.

This is especially important for a company like Spontan. We are not observing technological change from the sidelines. We build digital products, implement technology and help other organizations communicate, innovate and transform.

We therefore believe that our own internal approach to AI should reflect the same level of seriousness we bring to the solutions we create for others.

Albania Is Moving Forward, but Market Readiness Still Has a Long Way to Go

Albania is moving toward a more defined framework for artificial intelligence. A dedicated draft law on AI has been introduced with the aim of aligning the country with the European Union AI Act, while Albania also signed the Council of Europe Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence in June 2026.

These are important developments. But regulation alone does not make a market ready.

In our experience, many companies are already using AI, often extensively, without yet having a clear picture of what tools are being used, what data is being shared, where responsibility sits or what risks may emerge as usage grows.

The real challenge is that the market often confuses using AI with being ready for AI. They are not the same thing.

As Mr. Dario Rexhollari puts it:

“From where I stand as someone building digital products and working closely with institutions and NGOs, AI readiness is not about how many tools you use. It is about how responsibly you integrate them into your work, how you protect the data you handle and how clearly you understand their impact on the people and organizations you serve.”

This was one of the reasons we chose to act early. We did not expect to discover that everything was already perfect. That would defeat the purpose of an assessment. We wanted an honest view of where we stood and a clearer understanding of what should come next.

For the Albanian market, services such as AI assessments, AI governance and responsible AI advisory may still feel new. But as regulation advances and AI becomes more deeply integrated into everyday business operations, we believe the difference between simply adopting AI and actually being prepared for it will become increasingly important.

Working With Comply on AI

Our experience working with Comply on AI, Ms. Anisa Berisha and her team has been highly positive.

What we appreciated most was the combination of structure, professionalism and openness throughout the process. The assessment was not based on assumptions or generic recommendations. It required us to look carefully at our own operations, technology, internal practices and future ambitions.

Ms. Berisha and the Comply on AI team made the process clear, collaborative and genuinely valuable for us. Their approach allowed us to examine not only potential risks and governance requirements, but also the practical opportunities that AI can create across different areas of our business.

Good advisory work should make a company think more clearly about itself. That is what this collaboration achieved.

The discussions helped us consider not only AI risk and governance, but also the broader question of how artificial intelligence should fit into Spontan’s long term strategy. The process was professional, well structured and adapted to the realities of our business rather than treated as a box ticking exercise.

What This Means for SCM Going Forward

For us, the AI assessment is not the end of a process. It is a starting point.

It gives us a clearer foundation for improving internal AI governance, strengthening responsible AI practices, identifying opportunities for automation and productivity, and developing future AI powered products and services with greater confidence.

There is often pressure on companies to adopt every new technology immediately. We take a different view. Innovation matters, but so does understanding what you are implementing, why you are implementing it and how it affects your company, your clients and your data.

The businesses that benefit most from AI will probably not be those that simply use the greatest number of AI tools. They will be the ones that combine experimentation with strategy, human judgment, clear governance and a realistic understanding of risk.

For Spontan, working with Comply on AI, Ms. Anisa Berisha and her team was part of building that foundation.

As AI becomes increasingly embedded in business, technology and creative work, we believe that understanding your AI readiness is no longer a question reserved for large global corporations. It is becoming an essential strategic question for every ambitious company preparing for what comes next.
